DON’T VOTE

One of the great things about todays technology is that it allows anybody to post videos, pictures, or ideas instantaniously to the internet, allowing them to be viewed by the entire world. When most people see this they think of teenagers or kids posting their silly videos. One of the things most people dont think of is main stream actors either posting their own videos they make or they can get together and post a mainstream video instantly. Recently with the election many actors have been doing this. One example is Matt Damon who posted a simple video on youtube stating that their is a 1 in 3 chance that mccain is going to die, and that if palin becomes president it will be like a bad disney movie. This video even led people to make the trailer for this bad disney movie.

Another example is my favorite video at the moment which is called Don’t Vote. This was a video comprised of many famous actors. they get together and give the message that you need to register to vote and why. This i thought was very interesting because it wasnt just one or two actors but a group of them getting together to show  that they think this is important. They even tell you how to register and tell you why its so important.

Their are many other videos like these but i jsut thought these two were good examples.

You don’t need to play an instrument to be a musician

Stop motion. Ever heard of it? It is what cartoons are based off of and clay-mation as well. Clay-mation is what movies like Wallace and Gromit and Chicken Run are made with. Stop motion is done by taking a picture of the subject and creating the frames yourself. The first stop motion was flip books. All of this has to do with pictures and visual forms of media. So what does this has to do with music? Enter Lasse Gjertsen, a man with basic film editing training. He filmed himself playing every note on the piano with film. He also filmed himself hitting drums. He then edited the footage and copied and pasted and actually created music without ever knowing how to play the piano or drums. The video included is him beat boxing. It is very funny and at the same time entertaining. It now has opened up a whole new form of musical entertainment for those that do not know anything about music.
